Our Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice will not only prepare you for a career in law enforcement and corrections, but also provides a strong foundation for program managers, policy analysts, and graduate school. Through hands-on classes and in-depth topics, you will learn a wide range of subjects that can be implemented throughout the criminal justice field.
This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following program outcomes:
  1. Effectively communicate an understanding of the traditional roles & practices throughout the justice system, including criminal behavior, crime causation, courts, and law enforcement and corrections issues and practices.
  2. Demonstrate standards of legal and ethical principles, including the constitutionally mandated processes & the significance of professional ethics within the criminal justice system.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to utilize and employ present and evolving technologies in the field of criminal justice.
  4. Exhibit leadership skills to solve complex issues within a criminal justice organization & environment. 
  5. Recognize the relationship between research, theory, and practice; and evaluate evidence-based research as it applies to the criminal justice system.
  6. Illustrate an understanding of the interaction of cultural, socioeconomic, & gender-based differences and potential conflicts as they relate to the criminal justice profession.
  7. Understanding criminological theories and how they apply to criminal behavior, deviance, and the root causes of criminality.
