February 25: Emergency Response to Elevator Emergencies
This eight-hour course provides a basic understanding of elevator systems and includes elevator operations, safety features & electrical components; fire service override & manual operation using the Fire Override Key; hoistway door systems, proper opening with Slot, Drop & T-Shape keys & occupant removal; proper safey equipment and occupant protection including lock-out/tag-out of electrical systems, pit protection, body harness and rope systems.
February 29: Concealed Weapons Permit Class
This three-hour class will provide information necessary to complete and submit the State of Florida Concealed Weapon Permit application. Topics include: Eligibility, Possession Restrictions, Laws & Regulations, Safety, Use of Deadly Force and State Reciprocity.
March 5-7: Neck Restraint Instructor Certification
This three day intensive course provides instructors with the techniques and knowledge to teach law enforcement personnel various neck restraints including the vascular neck restraint. Day one will feature classroom instruction and day two and three practical physical defensive tactical training.
March 11-April 2: Dive Rescue International Winter Trainer Series
Dive Rescue International will host its Winter Trainer Series at the Fort Pierce Complex for the second year in a row. Courses include Dive Rescue 1, Dive Rescue 2, Med Diver, Public Safety Scuba Instructor, Dive Rescue 1 Trainer and Dry Suit Diver Trainer.
March 27: Why Teens Kill Seminar
This seminar will teach attendees what warning signs to look for and what causes teens to carry out violent acts. The seminar is conducted by national expert and author Phil Chalmers. The event is sponsored by IRSC, the Children's Services Council of St. Lucie County and WastePro.
