GUARDIAN ANGEL DRONE PILOT DEMONSTRATION TAKES FLIGHT AT IRSC PUBLIC SAFETY

Monday, November 17, 2025

Today we had the Guardian Angel Team visit the Public Safety Education Campus at Indian River State College, giving students and faculty an inside look at one of Florida’s newest school-safety technologies. The team showcased the Guardian Angel Drone Program, an initiative designed to support emergency response by providing real-time audio and video to law enforcement while helping deter potential threats during crisis situations.

During the visit, students from IRSC’s public safety and criminal justice programs were able to see the drone system in action and learn how emerging technology is shaping modern safety operations. Faculty and program leaders discussed how tools like the Guardian Angel system may influence future training and careers in public safety.

The statewide program—recently launched in Broward, Leon, and Volusia counties—aims to expand the resources available to schools and first responders. More information about the initiative is available through the Florida Department of Education.
