Step 1: Testing
PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE SELECTION PROCESS, THE APPLICANT MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS:
- BASIC ABILITIES TEST (BAT score valid for 4 years) - $39.00 fee (Click Here to Register)
- Please sign up for the correct test: COBAT for Corrections and LEBAT for Law Enforcement
- Check with the Selection Center if you qualify for the BAT Exemption (Degree or Military); for Law Enforcement only per FDLE
- Test provided in Room 127 every Monday and Tuesday @ the TCPSTC

- You must bring the original, completed Medical Waiver for PAT Form.

If applying through our Selection Center, you must complete the IRSC PAT; no other PATS will be accepted

The selection center will only accepted PAT tests given at IRSC. The PAT will be given by members of the selection center or designated instructors approved by the Criminal Justice Institute Director or the Selection Center Coordinator.
Step 2: Application
The Law Enforcement Academies are selective. Applicants, if accepted, will be placed into the next available academy.
- Applicant must have passed the BAT or be exempt and scheduled their PAT before downloading the application.
- Refer to the Important Documents section below to download the application. The application can be typed or handwritten.
- CJSTC 75 Form must be completed by a licensed physician ( MD, DO, ARNP, or PA), and the applicant must submit the original copy with the application.
- Once the application is complete (please refer to page 25 for the application checklist), please fill out this form (Preliminary Form)
- Applicants will be called in the order their form was received. Do not fill out multiple forms.
- Any omission or false statements will result in immediate disqualification.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted and will be rescheduled.
Step 3: Processing
THE REGION XI SELECTION CENTER PROCESSING FEE IS $600.
ALL PROCESSING FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
==> Phase I payment is due prior to your scheduled interview and appointment with the Selection Center Coordinator.
==> Phase II payment is not due until you have successfully passed Phase I and the Selection Center has contacted you with instructions on Phase II and when to make your payment.
